About HEIC Convertor

HEIC Convertor is built with a singular mission: to make modern Apple photos work seamlessly across all platforms without compromising user privacy. While iPhones and iPads have captured photos in High Efficiency Image Coding (HEIC) since iOS 11, many operating systems (like Windows 10/11, older Android versions, and Linux distros) still lack out-of-the-box support for the proprietary HEVC codecs.

Our Privacy-First Architecture

Traditional online image converters upload your personal pictures to cloud storage buckets and remote servers. This introduces latency, privacy risks, and storage costs that force services to impose strict file size limits or paywalls.

HEIC Convertor takes an entirely different approach. We compile the robust C++ libheif library into high-performance WebAssembly (WASM) and execute it directly in your web browser. When you drop images into our tool:

  • Decoding occurs entirely on your device's CPU using multi-threaded Web Workers.
  • Zero image bytes or file metadata are ever transmitted across the internet.
  • Closing or refreshing the browser tab instantly flushes memory buffers.
  • Batch processing runs at the native speed of your device's hardware.

Free, Open & Unrestricted

The service is completely free with no accounts, no credit cards, and no daily conversion quotas. The website may occasionally display standard, unobtrusive advertising or affiliate links to cover hosting and domain overhead, but these never intercept or access your photo data.
