Privacy Policy

At HEIC Convertor, privacy is not an afterthought or an optional toggle — it is the fundamental architectural principle of the application. This policy details how your photos and data are handled when visiting https://heic-convertor.site/.

1. Zero-Server Photo Processing

Unlike conventional conversion sites that transmit files to cloud servers, all photo conversion and decoding occur 100% locally in your web browser via compiled WebAssembly.

  • Your photos, thumbnails, and file names are never transmitted to our servers or any third-party infrastructure.
  • No copies, caches, or logs of your pictures are retained anywhere on the web.
  • When you close or reload the browser session, all image buffers are immediately wiped from your device's RAM.

2. EXIF & GPS Location Metadata

Apple HEIC photos often contain sensitive metadata, such as the exact GPS coordinates of your home, capture timestamps, and device identifiers. By default, HEIC Convertor preserves this metadata for your convenience, but you can toggle “Keep photo details” off at any time to completely strip EXIF metadata before sharing images online.

3. Anonymous Web Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics to track non-personal, aggregated site metrics (such as total page visits, browser types, and referring domains). Analytics scripts do not have access to your local files, image contents, or personal information.

4. Third-Party Links & Advertising

The website may host unobtrusive affiliate or advertisement links to maintain hosting infrastructure. These partners may utilize standard browser cookies under their respective privacy policies. They have zero access to your photos or conversion activities.

5. Contact & Inquiries

If you have questions regarding our privacy architecture or data practices, contact the engineering team at contact@chromik.site.
